For couples · a confession, then a question
Never have I ever questions for couples
The party version is a performance. The couples version is a short story. Read a line, say whether you have, and allow one follow-up. 26 lines are below, and none of them ask for details you would not say at the kitchen table.
How to play with two people
- One phone between you. Either of you can skip a line, and a skip ends it.
- Read the line as written. Answer “I have” or “I never.” A shrug counts as a skip.
- If the answer was “I have,” the other person asks one follow-up. One. Then it is their line to read.
- Ten lines is a full round. For a faster choice-based game, use the would you rather questions. For a longer talk, use questions to ask your partner. Both sit inside a game night if you want turns and a finish line.
The lines
The first eight are the easy memories. Later ones ask for a little more nerve. Still no anatomy, and nothing you have to act out. Dares live on the truth or dare page.
- Never have I ever planned a date and gotten nervous about it the day of.
- Never have I ever sent a flirty text and reread it before they replied.
- Never have I ever put on a song just to have an excuse to be close.
- Never have I ever slow danced in the kitchen.
- Never have I ever forgotten what we were watching.
- Never have I ever said "five more minutes" and meant the cuddling.
- Never have I ever left a note where only you would find it.
- Never have I ever kept a photo because of the look on your face.
- Never have I ever kissed someone in a parked car.
- Never have I ever asked for a kiss in the middle of an ordinary sentence.
- Never have I ever worn something I hoped would be noticed, then gotten shy when it was.
- Never have I ever practiced a compliment and then delivered a worse one.
- Never have I ever stayed on a call because I did not want to hang up.
- Never have I ever written a letter I was too shy to hand over.
- Never have I ever pretended we had just met, for a minute, and liked it.
- Never have I ever kissed someone on the neck in a doorway.
- Never have I ever suggested we stay in and then left the big light off.
- Never have I ever saved a date idea for someday and never sent it.
- Never have I ever used a silly voice to say something sincere.
- Never have I ever wanted to be told what to do for an evening, kindly.
- Never have I ever recreated a first date on purpose.
- Never have I ever gone quiet the moment things felt good, and needed a second to catch up.
- Never have I ever held a kiss a little longer than I meant to.
- Never have I ever said "your place or mine" as a joke and half meant it.
- Never have I ever picked the seat next to you on purpose.
- Never have I ever planned to make the first move, and then waited anyway.

How is this different from the party game?
There are two of you, so nobody is performing for a crowd. Read a line, say "I have" or "I never," and the other person may ask one follow-up. Then switch.
Do we have to drink?
No. A drink can sit on the table. You do not sip to play, to answer, or to skip. The follow-up question is the whole point.
What if a line is too personal?
Skip it. Say "next" and move on. A skip is not a confession, and it does not have to be explained.
Are these the explicit version?
No. They are flirty memories: kisses, songs, notes, getting shy. Knotty keeps the more explicit prompts inside the games, off this page.
