For couples · talk first
Questions to ask your partner
Ask one, then actually wait. These are deep conversation questions for a couple, plus the flirty truths already in Knotty. Four of them will fill an evening if you let the answers be longer than a sentence. An interview, where one of you reads and the other performs, is a worse night.
How to ask them
- Put both phones face down, unless you are on a call. One screen for the list is enough.
- Take turns choosing the question. The person who did not choose answers first.
- When they finish, answer the same question yourself. Then stop talking about it, or do not. Either is fine.
- If you want a faster game instead of a talk, switch to would you rather. If you are in two cities, start from the long-distance games. The private version of “what do you want” is the yes / no / maybe list, where a solo no is never read aloud.
Deep conversation questions
Ordinary life, not the bedroom. The first six are what the date-night plan opens with. The rest can wait.
- When did you last feel properly looked after by me, and what was I doing?
- What does a good ordinary Tuesday look like for us?
- How do you like to be comforted when the day has gone badly?
- What is a small habit of mine you hope I never drop?
- What would you want me to do on a day you are quiet?
- How do you actually know I love you? The evidence, not the slogan.
- What is something you are proud of that I might not have said out loud?
- If we had a free Sunday and the phones stayed in the other room, how would you spend it?
- What is a conversation we have been postponing?
- Where do you want to be in five years, and what do you want me doing beside you?
- What did you grow up with that you want us to keep, and what do you want to leave behind?
- When do you feel most like yourself with me?
- What is a fear you do not mind me knowing?
- What kind of tired are you this month, and what would actually help?
- What is something you want more of that has nothing to do with the bedroom?
- Tell me about a time you felt us choose each other, not just go along.
- What do you wish I would ask you more often?
- If we described us to a friend in one honest sentence, what should it be?
Flirty questions from the deck
These 12 are the warm-up truths, word for word. In the game, “your partner” is their name. Dares are on the truth or dare questions page.
- What was the exact moment you first wanted to kiss your partner?
- What outfit of your partner’s drives you a little crazy?
- Describe your ideal slow, lazy morning in bed together.
- Which part of your partner’s body do you catch yourself staring at?
- What’s a compliment you’ve never said out loud but think often?
- What song puts you in the mood?
- Where’s the most unexpected place you’ve thought about your partner lately?
- What’s one thing your partner does that instantly turns you on?
- Kiss and tell: what was your favorite kiss we’ve ever had?
- What’s a date you’d love to recreate — and how would it end differently?
- Do you prefer being the one who starts it or the one who gets seduced?
- What’s the flirtiest text you’ve ever wanted to send but didn’t?

The flirty questions are already in Knotty. Open truth or dare, leave the heat on flirty, and take turns. No account needed to start on one phone.

How many questions should we ask in one sitting?
Four to six. Take turns. The point is a conversation, not finishing the list. Leave the rest for a night when you are both awake.
What if a question is too big for tonight?
Say so and pick a smaller one. You can write the big one down and come back to it. Postponing a question is a complete answer.
Are the flirty questions from the game?
Yes. The second list is the warm-up truths from Knotty, with the name filled in. The dares that go with them are on the truth or dare page, not here.
Can we do this on a call?
The deep questions work on a call. A few of the flirty ones assume you are in the same room. Knotty's long-distance page is the set that was picked for a video call.
